Selected for their exemplary service, here are the top winners and excerpts from their nominations:

Honor of Distinction:
Bill Hammond, Endless Summer Charters
From the nominations: Hammond creates lifelong connections to Southwest Florida. Families return year after year not simply because he knows where the fish are, but because he makes every guest feel welcome. From inviting an 8-year-old to “drive the boat” to tucking a tired child in with a blanket for the ride home, Hammond consistently goes above and beyond.

His charters are about much more than fishing. Hammond teaches guests about wildlife, shelling, tides and Southwest Florida’s coastal ecosystem while sharing stories of the region and its resilience. His expertise, flexibility and genuine hospitality turn a day on the water into an experience guests remember long after they return home.

Accommodations:
Tiffany Beyke, Sundial Beach Resort & Spa
From the nomination: When the Dream Foundation contacted Sundial Beach Resort & Spa on behalf of Abby, a terminally ill mother of two whose final dream was to visit Sanibel and renew her wedding vows, Beyke immediately stepped in to help.

She coordinated complimentary accommodations, meals and a celebratory dinner and rallied community partners to provide flowers, a wedding cake, photography, hair and makeup services and other special touches. Beyke’s compassion and leadership transformed one family’s final wish into a beautiful beach celebration and memories they will treasure forever.

Attractions:
Mo McLaughlin, Tarpon Bay Explorers
From the nominations: McLaughlin earned praise for her knowledge of Sanibel’s history, wildlife and conservation, along with her ability to make every guest feel included.

One guest who uses a cane appreciated how comfortable she made him feel during the walking portions of the tour, while another praised McLaughlin for giving guests plenty of time to observe wildlife and take photos. Her warmth and enthusiasm had visitors ranging in age from 50 to 80 laughing, connecting and enjoying the island together.

Best Tourism Boss:
Shawn Farrell, South Seas
From the nominations: For 15 years, Farrell has been a steady leader through ownership transitions, management changes, the pandemic and multiple hurricanes, including Ian, Helene and Milton. Through every challenge, he has remained calm, optimistic and focused on his team, the resort and the community.

Employees describe Farrell as accessible, thoughtful and supportive. He walks the property daily, greets associates by name, celebrates successes and makes employees at every level feel valued. Having started his hospitality career as bell staff more than 30 years ago, Farrell leads with experience, humility and a genuine understanding of his team.

Good Samaritan:
Brian Silveira, Cypress Cove
From the nomination: Silveira showed that when every second counts, courage can change the ending.

During a holiday brunch, a resident began choking and initial attempts to help were unsuccessful. Silveira quickly stepped forward, remained calm and performed the Heimlich maneuver, clearing the obstruction and allowing the resident to breathe again. His quick thinking and willingness to act turned a potentially tragic moment into a story of survival.

Other Services/Businesses:
Maya Hofacker, Viscaya-Prado Veterinary Hospital
From the nomination: When a family’s dog became critically ill after suffering toxicity from moldy compost, Hofacker became a steady source of reassurance during the pet’s four-day hospitalization.

She provided frequent updates and photos, arranged visits, patiently answered questions and carefully explained medications and home-care instructions when the dog was ready to leave. The family said Hofacker’s compassion and communication made a profound difference in both their dog’s recovery and their own peace of mind.

Restaurants:
Lloyd Mpanza, Pink Shell Beach Resort & Marina
From the nominations: Mpanza received numerous nominations from visitors near and far, each describing extraordinary service and genuine care.

When a family forgot to order a birthday cake for their son, Mpanza surprised him with ice cream and a candle and personally worked with the chef to accommodate the child’s peanut allergy. When another young guest became upset at breakfast, Mpanza quietly brought out a special order of pancakes. One visitor from New Hampshire said that in 63 years, Mpanza was the most attentive, respectful and thoughtful server he had ever encountered.

Transportation:
Lisa Pierantozzi, Swissport
From the nominations: Pierantozzi treats travelers like VIPs, earning numerous nominations for her dedication and compassion.

When one couple’s luggage was delayed and airline policy prevented delivery outside the designated service area, Pierantozzi personally drove more than an hour to return their bags. She kept another family informed throughout their own luggage delay, providing updates and peace of mind. And when a young girl left her favorite toy behind while boarding a flight, Pierantozzi boarded the plane before the doors closed to reunite her with it, turning potential tears into smiles before takeoff.
