| Innovations, Dream Team & Community Ride

At 6:30 on 31 August 2025

The unrivaled Ötztaler Cycle Marathon, the classic event in the Alps, is getting closer. This week, the largest mass sports event sees a cooperation with Austria's largest elite sporting event. For the very first time, the Ötztaler Cycle Marathon Community Ride will take place as part of the Tour of Austria. And after that, things will get even busier on ÖRM TV.

The starting signal for the 44th Ötztaler Cycle Marathon  will be given in Sölden at 6:30 on 31 August 2025.

The race over 227 kilometers will cover 5,500 altitude meters, crossing Kühtai, Brenner and Jaufen Passes, before climbing dreaded Timmelsjoch and descending to the finish line. During the registration phase at the beginning of the year, the organizers saw a record high of 25,280 requests from 50 countries.

"We want to attract more women to our 44th edition of the Ötztaler Cycle Marathon and this year also showcase our dream team of over 1,300 female and male volunteers. They are doing an incredible job. The number of women participating in the race is also steadily increasing. This year we have 459 women at the start, almost 20 percent more than last year," explains Heike Klotz, member of the OC. She also emphasizes the importance of sustainability and regionality, which will continue to be a significant part of the Ötztaler Cycle Marathon in 2025. Nine electric Skoda cars will be along the race track this year.
